Here is a trap for the unwary and something we all need to be aware of. There was problem at is not eTrack related (as we knew). uses an NAS unit for storage (network Access Storage unit) which is basically a disk drive component with firmware operating system running a version of windows XP to allow security etc to work on the shared files on the network unit.

This particular unit has some enhancements that block files from being used (including overwritten!!). The way this was discovered was I asked Justin to go into the properties of the file (right click properties in context menu). Having done that, I asked them to check the attributes (read-only etc) just to be sure. My next step was to go to security but they noted a new file property section saying “This file has been copied form another computer and blocked to protect files on this computer, click here to unblock this file”. Once they unblocked the file everything simply copied across as expected.
