When a project is opened in the Schedule, the ‘Plan’ hours become ‘Baseline’ hours like in MS Project and read only.

You can create a new Baseline (blue bars) from all Actual (green bars) + ETC (red bars) by clicking ‘Save Plan’ in the Schedule.

However, although you can edit the ETC, you can’t edit the Actual green bars as this comes from the Timesheet which means you can’t change the plan start dates this way (they take the dates from the first timesheet entered).

There is a way to create a new Plan that is different to the Actual green bars and current ETC.
This is useful if you have started the project before scheduling it.

  1. Open the project in the Schedule
  2. Create ETC (red bars) to reflect the original plan going back to the beginning of the project (hide Actual green bars as not used).
(it’s ok changing the ETC, it is restored in 3b below).
  3. Click ‘Save’ and select ‘Recreate Plan (Baseline), discard ETC changes’.
    This will:
    a) create a plan/baseline/blue bars to match the ETC entered (it ignores the Actual green bars)
    b) restores the original ETC before you started.
